Travis Walker and Rae Evans were high school sweethearts. They were madly in love but he had gotten a recording deal so he had to leave town and she had to stay and make her dream come true. Ten years later it was their high school reunion and they both were there. By now both of them had the life they wanted but Travis was missing the guy he used to be while he was in his hometown. That's why he found the only person who knew him well and asked for a taste of the past. That night brought many memories back for both and Travis decided to stay for a while. Rae didn't like this idea, she knew that if he was around her for more she would end up heartbroken again. The problem was that she couldn't stay away from him so they decided to spend the weekend together. Their time together was magical, more intense than it was 10 years ago. But the time came that they had to go back to their lives. Would they continue living with a void in their lives or make sacrifices to be together...?
It's such a swoon-worthy short romance novel. At some parts, it gets quite emotional and it has many steamy explicit scenes. The storyline is very simple, it evolves in only a couple days and it is focused solely on the two main characters. It shows how two people who were madly in love chased their dreams and after many years their love was so much stronger, even though the two young kids were replaced by two grown people who had changed a lot. I loved this book, I liked how the author managed to balance the romantic parts with the emotional and it turned out to be so enjoyable. Also, i have never seen an epilogue like the one in this book, very clever. I give this 5 stars.
