Lyla was sacrificed to Altar Rock so her village could have a good year and not to suffer from starvation by their masters again. She thought that death was expecting her by a dragon but she was wrong. She was going to be mated with Drakoryan Lords. Drorgros had won the fight between his brothers so he was the one who would sleep with Lyla first. After him, the others would follow since she was going to be their shared mate. Each mating was different and every time she was learning something that made her understand them better. The day of the Deepening she realized how much she loved them and finally accepted her fate.
It's a very erotic paranormal romance. The first book of this series. The title is very fitting to the story since it is focused on the heroine's sacrifice to the Drakoryan empire. It explains why that happened and what is expected of her, plus it gives a few information about the future book which is gonna be the sequel to this one. I loved the erotic primal element and that the girl was treated with respect and not as a prisoner. It is very different from any other book I have ever read. I enjoyed it a lot and I will rate it with 5 stars.
